Last updated: October 2025

Our Commitment to Quality

At GravoMax Fitness, we are committed to providing commercial-grade fitness equipment that meets high standards of performance, safety, and durability. All products are backed by warranties that reflect fair use, manufacturing integrity, and compliance with the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA).

This warranty applies only to products purchased from GravoMax Fitness or an authorised distributor, and only for the original purchaser. Where applicable, rights under the CGA cannot be excluded or modified by this policy.

Conditions of Warranty Coverage

To maintain your warranty coverage:

  1. Correct Use Only: Equipment must be used for its intended purpose (e.g., gym, commercial, or home fitness).
  2. Surface Requirements: Barbells and bumper plates must only be dropped on approved shock-absorbing platforms or rubber flooring (minimum 20 mm with force reduction rating ≥ 35%).
  3. Installation: Products requiring assembly must be set up according to GravoMax’s guidelines. Commercial equipment must be installed by a qualified technician.
  4. Maintenance: Regular care and inspections are expected. Worn or loose components (e.g., barbell sleeves, cables) must be repaired or replaced immediately.
  5. Storage: Keep products in a dry, indoor environment. Exposure to moisture, extreme temperatures, or direct sunlight may void your warranty.

What Is Not Covered

The warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. Your warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear (e.g., scuffs, cosmetic fading, chipped paint)
  • Improper use or abuse (e.g., dropping an unloaded barbell, use on concrete)
  • Misuse (e.g., overloading, improper storage, or modifications)
  • Corrosion from moisture, sweat, or cleaning with corrosive substances
  • Products sold as ex-demo, clearance, or second-hand (unless otherwise stated)

Special Notes on Barbells

  • Bending is not covered unless due to manufacturing fault.
  • Always drop barbells only when loaded, and only on appropriate surfaces.
  • Use barbell collars to prevent disc movement during lifts.
  • Clean with a soft cloth and light 3-in-1 oil; never use steel brushes or allow fluid into the barbell sleeves.

Limited Lifetime Warranty

  • The Limited Lifetime Warranty covers defects in materials, manufacturing, and functionality for the expected useful life of the barbell, provided it is used and maintained correctly.
  • “Lifetime” refers to the reasonable and expected lifespan of the barbell under normal conditions of use, not the lifetime of the purchaser.
  • Covered: Defects in steel shafts, sleeves, or bushings/bearings due to manufacturing faults; sleeve rotation issues caused by construction defects; bending from proven material or workmanship faults.
  • Not Covered: Improper use (dropping unloaded bar, dropping on racks/spotter arms/concrete), excessive abuse, rust or corrosion, and normal wear (e.g., knurling, cosmetic changes).
  • Care requirements: Always use on approved flooring, never store loaded long-term, clean with cloth and light oil only, and inspect sleeves regularly.

Making a Warranty Claim

To initiate a warranty claim:

  1. Contact us at support@gravomaxfitness.co.nz
  2. Provide proof of purchase and a clear description of the issue
  3. Include photos or video evidence, if applicable

GravoMax may request the item be returned for inspection. In such cases, the customer is responsible for shipping unless covered by CGA remedies.

Remedies Under Warranty

  • Repair or replace the affected component or product
  • Provide an equivalent replacement if the exact item is unavailable

GravoMax reserves the right to determine the appropriate remedy based on the nature of the defect.

Used & Clearance Equipment

Items sold as ex-demo, used, or clearance are sold “as-is” and carry a 30-day functional warranty unless otherwise stated in writing.

New Zealand Consumer Law Protection

This warranty is offered in addition to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to meet acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
